talking about no of course not

but uh Kit is officially

turning the 17 once that have

happened doesn't matter we're

basing on when we're recording

not when this airs this will

several days after you're 17

but still 17 a significant

milestone for some but not so

much

if you really think about I

mean because at the age of 16

you could start learning to

drive or

you know get your license and

at the age of 18 you can then

vote purchase cigarettes

be drafted by the military etc

I mean 17 is really your last

throwaway year that has no

meaning

whatsoever before adulthood how

does the kit feel about the

aging process that that's not

really an

answer that's more of a noise

so you could take it or leave

it this is what I get for

trying to have a

conversation with you anyway

running with it I mean why know

what we could talk about oh I

about minecraft live you mean

minecraft free recorded mine

craft dead yeah first of all the

actual minecraft for those that

don't know

minecraft live is there what

once a year twice a year oh

well now it's twice a year it

used to be once a year

it's minecraft slash mojang

slash microsoft twice a year

thing to highlight the latest

stuff stuff coming from

minecraft and other associated

projects yes half of which isn

't even available in the version

that we prefer to play

yeah because microsoft can't

make extra money off of the j

ava version because the java

version doesn't have a store in

and doesn't have multiplayer

game modes there's no micro

transactions and therefore it's

worthless yes and yet still not

nearly as buggy as bedrock yep

anyway I'm sure that we don't

have strong opinions about this

we don't want to offend people

with our strong opinions about

how much bedrock sucks but

anyway we didn't watch mine

craft live when it was so called

live

uh last weekend in quotes and i

say quote unquote because mine

craft live used to be a live

event and then there was covid

yeah and now they don't do it

live ever they just edit it and

add pointless intermission

stuff yep so instead of people

doing things live it's all pre-

recorded segments which some are

interesting like i always find

it interesting when

when they interview the sound

effects lady because they show

how she goes about doing and

obtaining the sound effects i

mean supposedly supposedly

supposedly allegedly we don't

really know but i think i can

officially say that minecraft

has lost the plot there was a

plot well you know what i mean

like most of the enhancements

are either cosmetic like this

was the the babies i mean yeah

that was the last update yeah

so there was the babies update

we got better skins for the

chickens instead of a baby

chicken looking like a mini

chicken it's it's a tiny number

one pool ball yeah it's the

baby oh and we can we can take

dandelion i guess and put gold

around it and feed it and they

'll stay babies forever which

it was something people wanted

but i don't think it was

integrated well but the only

good thing out of that entire

thing was you can craft name

tags and then even even then

people still aren't entirely

happy about that because it

means that the final librarian

trade is made useless since

candles and the one thing that

i thought was truly a good

feature as i mentioned earlier

can't be incorporated into

java because java because java

doesn't have friends list yeah

java doesn't have the ability

to join other people's world to

join other people's worlds

unless they start like a proper

server versus a realm or a mod

or a mod yeah so basically they

gave the ability for bedrock

users to create parties where

you could very quickly add like

your friends together and jump

into a specific

multiplayer event or

multiplayer event or server or

whatever and that's great but

like find a way to do that for

java without giving us crappy

microtransaction stores that

violate your own guidelines it

's java they don't they don't

think it makes any money all

they get is stuff on console

but yeah i don't know um and

then they announced a minecraft

land at some theme park in the

uk a minecraft world in the uk

and that's gonna be out in 2027

fine i mean they did it for

super mario in universal

studios so why not have a mine

craft land they're also doing

another live experience thing

yeah i have the first one that

's like save the village and now

there's a different one that's

based on minecraft legends yeah

and i'll say that to me that

actually seemed like a good

thing like those those kind of

seem cool yeah and then we

found out about the sulfur

caves

so we have a new biome ladies

and gentlemen again chaos cube

that's what they're gonna call

if you don't if you don't play

minecraft none of this is gonna

mean anything to you

so i apologize but i don't

apologize for kit either

because he's being himself to

the extent that he knows what

his self is

yeah so the sulfur cave the

sulfur cave which has farting

springs that have noxious gas

that make you

have the nausea have the nausea

effect so your screen sways

back and forth and there's cinn

abar

and sulfur as blocks and

supposedly there's some kind of

special sulfur that acts like

well does the bubbly

thing yeah it does that it

makes a nasty smell but neither

of these blocks can be used for

anything but

building you can't even use it

to make bombs yeah like sulfur

you can make a more accurate

dynamite

recipe or just a new one yeah

or just make a new one but no

those blocks don't do anything

they're

decorative they're decorative

because we need more yellow and

red i guess i mean yellow maybe

but but

best of all they came out with

a new mob and they didn't even

specify this is great because

kit was

asking me this several times

during the minecraft live they

didn't specify if it was

hostile or not

is that hostile or not we don't

know it didn't seem to do any

damage but we can't be sure

because it does

act like a slime or magna cube

yep so it's a sulfur cube and

the best feature of the sulfur

cube is

you can stick blocks into them

yep you stick a block in it and

then you can kick it yep that

that literally is

the feature the distance that

the that the sulfur cube will

fly

depends on what block you put

in it so if you put like

something super heavy like iron

in it

it's not going to go very far

but if you put something light

in it

then it'll go super far and you

can use it to do things like

come up with basketball or

soccer in

minecraft because people didn't

do that already or anything i

don't know it just feels like

they're

rolling out things that are

cute they're rolling out things

that give people a feeling of

being able

to be creative but they don't

really add much to the game

they don't add much to the game

first of all

but secondly it's clearly

directed more at children yeah

which i understand but most

like a lot of the

people who play minecraft and

grown up and stuff no we got to

keep them kids in we got to

make it so

that we compete with roblox by

having it so that you can

create games inside of games

inside of games

inside of games inside of games

yeah so great but they they

also showed pretty much all the

things you

can do yeah the sulfur cube in

minecraft plot there's not

really too much you can really

do with that it

might be useful in redstone

because redstoners like to do

wacky things with entities red

stoners like to get stoned

probably anyway but the most

insulting wow i can't talk

right the most insulting slap

in the face

was there preview of minecraft

dungeons 2 it was a terrible

cut scene and then title card

yeah it was

just one long cut scene that

was a uninformative teaser it

was uninformative yeah shocker

and to me

if you're going to be demoing a

new game or announcing a new

game like it doesn't have to be

a full-on playthrough like for

15 minutes that you need to

show but do do the teaser

trailer and then just do a

montage of really quick

clips of gameplay especially if

it is coming this year there

should be enough done that you

can show some of it

yeah like show us what we're

gonna be playing because

i don't want to show up more

money for microsoft and the

teaser trailer wasn't even that

good no it was like

oh they thought everything was

better and then it all went

wrong or it wasn't yeah it was

just all happy

until it wasn't and that was

that was the line that just

just no well i think also

whoever was directing the

actress that does the voice

just wasn't thinking about how

that line was delivered because

that line could

have been delivered better but

it totally wasn't until it wasn

't yeah like and everything was

fine

and i i can't remember exactly

how she said it but it's like

until it wasn't yeah like and

it's like no

until pause it wasn't that's

that's basically what she said

yeah versus and everything was

fine

until it wasn't like you know

like drop the voice a little

bit or something like try to

add some

tension there and that's i

guarantee you that's not the

actress that's not the voice

actress

that's the the the director

yeah like whoever's directing

the voice actress it's like nah

well

let's let's do it this way it

'll be better are you sure you

want to go with that take

really i thought

that was my worst one that's

the one that you want but if

you're gonna if you're you're

releasing a game

this year actually what in

theory within a few months yeah

i mean then maybe show us what

we're working with

but no no so you're expecting

me to get excited about yet

another minecraft game i'm

gonna be honest

the concept art that got leaked

showed us more about the game

than that teaser trailer did

and you know

minecraft dungeons was a decent

enough game it got repetitive

after a while but still it was

a decent

enough game but they then

killed it in order to make room

for minecraft legends and that

did so well

yeah minecraft legends was the

best game you know just flat

out the best game in all of

mine in fact it's

better than minecraft itself

better than minecraft earth

season and totally not totally

totally not

i you know i i i have i will

say that i pre-ordered that

game

i had that game ordered before

kit had access to it and when i

saw what the gameplay was like

i'm like

no you see because i i do a lot

of my minecraft stuff don't get

me wrong like i my friends and

i

had access to minecraft way

back in the beta version and

even then i didn't really get

it to be honest

it's like oh you can build

stuff and you can wander around

aimlessly and it's like wow

that's a great way

to waste time but you know my

friends had a server and well

he and his brother had a server

and they

they illustrated some of the

things that are possible like

building giant castles and

building giant

toilets that's how i got into

minecraft because i then i knew

other people who were into it

and they're

like oh this is fun you should

get it and i did and similarly

like with kit he got into mine

craft he

thought it was cool so i

started playing with him and uh

i got minecraft dungeons and

minecraft legends

because i thought it would be

something you know we could

bond over but i think even he

only played

minecraft legends i only played

it once once yeah you know it's

bad when the most hardcorest of

minecrafters is

take one look at the game and

they're just like no no no no

no i have some concerns

about minecraft dungeons too

now if it's basically a clone

of minecraft dungeons one i'm

okay with it

yeah because there are a couple

of areas of improvement from

minecraft dungeons

but but not many not many like

it's it's a pretty solid game

and since it does seem to

center around

wardens maybe they'll do that

well maybe they'll make it so

that you do actually have to be

careful about

how much noise you make do you

know what i'm excited about all

right for minecraft dungeons

too what

all new enemy blind spots oh

yeah the good old redstone gold

yep we love the redstone how

long did

it take them to fix that i don

't think they ever fixed it you

don't think they fixed it it's

just you

could literally stand right in

front of the thing and just be

hacking away yeah like rarely

it will fix

itself but like that's a point

zero zero one percent chance

that's the best that's the best

mechanic ever

um also the one thing i just

got kind of tired of with mine

craft dungeons is

there's no real advancement

after a certain point like

unless you really want to grind

it through the tower

and i mean we did play the

tower when it went like that

was still being done when they

stopped updating it

but there were like people that

had like level 287 gear or

whatever yeah because of a pre-

previous bug that we didn't get

to exploit

you know they could have fixed

that i mean they did that's why

we didn't get that level 500

gears because

yeah but people who had it didn

't immediately have it taken

away either i don't think they

ever got

taken away but people would get

mad if it got taken away oh you

you mean like when games get

taken offline

without the ability to play

them anymore like minecraft era

but no one played that anyway

or like

if you tried to play minecraft

without a microsoft account

after the transition which

there is an active

lawsuit being done a class

action lawsuit oh yeah i didn't

sign up for that i forgot to

i did i had to go back and find

it like in a text file

somewhere or no not in a text

file it's in

the web code for the minecraft

website when you sign in like

you can look at some specific

area and it

will tell you when you created

your account and my account was

created a long long time ago

mine won't

be accurate because i i

accidentally made a new account

well no you transitioned it to

a new account but

you you're the the creation of

your original account is still

the same uh so that would still

be accurate

oh yeah that's that's something

that was fun about minecraft

when microsoft took it over is

when we

had to transition it over to a

microsoft account kit

accidentally created a brand

new microsoft account that

he didn't need and so we had to

actually change the microsoft

account that his computer uses

or something like that i don't

even remember how we fixed it

but we figured we didn't we

didn't

it's still on the wrong account

we tried we tried to ask some

microsoft and they say well we

can't do

anything about that yep sucks

to be you yep sucks to be you

it's wondrous it's great thank

you microsoft

we're turning to the sulfur

cube stuff they didn't even use

a good sulfur cave generation

for the minecraft live

it was not good generation yeah

it was it was a pretty small

sulfur cave well they were

trying to

highlight so this is what it

was it was a sulfur cave with a

giant like tunnel above it

like coming down from the

surface so they could show how

the cinnabar and the sulfur

make layers

yeah well like they went down

from the surface and then they

went into a big cave and then

that led

to a really tiny sulfur cave

yeah and you just go like make

make it a bigger sulfur cave if

you're gonna be

highlighting it why not or

better yet how about you don't

make a better sulfur cave how

about

you fix the combat system

between bedrock and java

because bedrock is essentially

on 1.8 combat

and java's on 1.9 combat bed

rock's offhand also doesn't work

the same you can't put anything

in the

offhand you can only put really

specific things in the offhand

well yeah because they didn't

implement

1.9 yeah like you can put a

shield a totem maybe torches

and i think that's it and you

know like i feel so

nerdy and stupid for talking

about 1.8 versus 1.9 because i

couldn't give a like i i only

learned

about this the other day like i

never pvp in minecraft i just

you know what my job in mine

craft is

i dig and i build a little

house he rocks and he stones

that's it that's all i do i don

't care about pvp

i don't care about drama if

people are causing drama on my

server i would rather kick them

off

or like just repeatedly kill

them over and over again using

powerful cooking oh yes i

created a

cookie well i did well you

could at the time you created

it but then or you told me how

to create it

i forgot but whatever it's a

cookie with like 255 sharpness

and 255 not back and i think 25

5 fire

aspect yeah i think i only did

50 knockback because 255 kind

of breaks yes but i'm just

saying like i

have a cookie that if i take

out the cookie and hit somebody

with it it's the equivalent of

god smiting them

and you know what that's what i

want people on my server to

think of me but i don't know i

i i know

that i heard that there was one

of the minecraft developers who

was working to create a nice

middle

ground between 1.8 and 1.9

mechanics and it never came out

i mean it came out but still

just well it

came out in preview it was

never released formally into

the game yeah there were people

who made servers on it

yeah for pvp yep and now nobody

can play on those servers

because it was never

implemented i mean you can

but you can but you have to

find that one rare snapshot

yeah to play on combat preview

something or other

it's like listen to the

community all right i get that

the community wanted cuter baby

animals and

wanted them not to age fine

everybody likes cute animals

except when they discover that

the cute

animals still poop and you have

to clean up after them then

they're not fun anymore but

like the combat situation i

watched like a youtube about

the combat situation how it

literally broke the

minecraft community oh yeah it

did it's it's still like

probably the biggest minecraft

drama in terms of

updates and to me that's

something the community's been

wanting for a very very very

long time yeah but

but you want to know why it's

not implemented why because it

's specifically combat focused

and

therefore won't add anything

for all the small children it

only adds things for all the pv

pers who have

their own drama going on right

now well yeah i mean when don't

pvpers have drama going on but

what's

the latest drama from the pvp

ears anyway uh never mind i don

't care no go ahead we only have

a few

minutes but a player named mar

lo who runs the one of like pvp

ranking server where you can

get ranked in a

certain tier by fighting people

uh finally got exposed as an

old hacker that no one liked

and was causing

problems a while ago and and

there's been a bunch of stuff

about this person but no one

really believed

it until until until recently

so somebody docks them uh no it

's just uh more evidence came

out about them

that kind of just final nail in

the coffin them oh boy yeah but

it was a famous hacker in the

minecraft community

uh turned out to be this person

interesting well i'm not

surprised yeah but yeah they

had the monopoly

over the entire pvp community

because they had the only

server where you could get

truly ranked

officially quote unquote yes

officially ranked but not by

microsoft or mojang just by

this other website although

that's common too like speed

runs and stuff like that are

generally ranked

by independent websites well as

we near the end of our our
